I’ve owned my pet grooming business for 20+ years. After years of learning the ropes, and getting my Master Groomer Certification, I realized that I love sharing my passion for grooming with others through teaching. I began to work differently with my staff, honing their skills, preparing them for certification, encouraging them to strengthen their talents.
After having my third child, I realized my life had changed, and my schedule needed to change, too. I could no longer spend the normal hours I had previously at work and take care of all the other responsibilities in my life. Together, my husband, Michael, and I have 5 children and aging parents. He has a busy, high-pressure career that often takes him out of town for days or weeks. We live on a small ranch with a vineyard, 2 horses, an ancient pony, a miniature dachshund, and a standard poodle. I had to find a way to restructure my time.
At first, it wasn’t easy, but I began to move my business and other priorities around to better suit my busy life. Since making these changes, I have much more happiness and satisfaction as a business owner. My business is thriving, and I have the freedom and flexibility I need. There is balance in my life for the first time.
I started this blog and my consulting services in hopes of encouraging and inspiring others to find their own personal balance.
